François Legrix or Le Grix (1881-1966) was a French journalist, writer, and editor, best known as the director of
La Revue Hebdomadaire
. A prominent figure in Parisian literary and political circles between the wars, he was close to François Mauriac and other leading intellectuals of the time, and was known within these circles for his wit and the openness with which he expressed his homosexuality. Aside from the present tender portrait by Marie Laurencin, Le Grix is known to have sat for Jacques-Émile Blanche in 1917 (
Portrait de François Le Grix
, now in the Château-Musée de Dieppe).
